Man it's Monday !

Wow, well I made it through the rain...if not literally, definitely figuratively!

Happy Birthday to me :0 Of course hubby forgot the big day until he stopped in at my Mom's.

I am sure she shamed him into remembering. At least by the time he picked me up from work, he had managed to buy a card. He also made me a Chocolate Cake...Woo Hoo! The boys were so cute wishing me "Happy Birthday"!

Work was busy today with back to back meetings...and then my infamous 1pm with "Irwin".
I am happy I was so busy through the morning with meetings so I had little time to focus on worrying about the 1pm. The meeting which I deemed would be a confrontational nightmare, actually went better than I thought. I worked at not being a bitch and tried to listen to this guys spiel on why he has been treating me like crap for 2 weeks. Some of his reasonings were pretty enlightening...some even amusing. He went all methodical and theoretical on me...he has not a clue man what this place is like. Some say he will not last....I think I am beginning to agree.
We shall see I guess :)

Five things I am grateful for today:

1. My Mom gave birth
2. My job
3. My two little wonders, Alex & Noah
4. Advil (Can you spell cramps?)
5. Chocolate Cake

So it's Sunday...

I have so much to do and little ambition...I think old age is catching up with me. Major issues in the female department, guess I need to call Doc Charlotte. The thought of having surgery or some other procedure which will take me "out of the game" for 6-8 weeks is not a pleasant one.
NOT that I would not enjoy the "time off" even if on pain meds...but the timing with all that is going on with work would not be good. Just what "Irwin" needs to really step into my shoes and position himself for a takeover. Week 2 into having a new boss and I have to say in working 30 years in Corporate America, he is the most difficult person ever. Sad that I never considered going for "his" job, since I basically was doing it for 6 months since "Ryan" departed. I was so busy working, I guess I never really entertained the thought of me moving into the corner office. Now that I see what we are stuck with, how much of a fool was I ?

Anyway back to work tomorrow :0 I hope my back and all my other parts are in better shape than they are today. I will need all my druthers and mojo for my one on one with Irwin...
What a lucky gal I am to have to deal with him on my Birthday.

I am psyched however, I will be going away next weekend to a Scrapping crop. Though in Framingham, I will get some much needed rest, relaxationan and plenty of time to work on the kids books....Yipeeee!

I need to spend time this weekend planning my pages so I do not have to drag my whole damn house with me next weekend. I asked for a room near the crop, so I won't kill myself schlepping everything.

Things I am grateful for today:

1. Black Mango Tea
2. Laptop
3. My boys to cheer me up
4. Husband who cooks and cleans up
5. Advil

Winter Weekends

Who was it that created the 5 day work week? They surely must have been a glutton for punishment. Why not a 4 day or better yet 3 day? Imagine how much different our lives would be if we had 3 or 4. You could actually squeeze in more cleaning, more laundry, sorting out the old sock drawer and for once own a refrigerator whose inside would pass even Martha Stewart's inspection!

Ah well...it is nice to think, what if ? For now and until retirement or until I hit the Lottery, the 5 day work week it is...

The Saturday's seem to pass so quickly...Sundays full of Family events and "oh Mom, you promised to take us"....and before you know it, you are back in the office trying to recall where you left off the Friday before.
